Training program for derivatives

The IFSID has launched, in February 2013, a professional training program delivering complete, up-to-date knowledge on derivatives and structured products, the functioning of their markets, strategies, risk management, back office operations, the accounting of these instruments as well as related legal aspects.

The modular structure of the program  (11 modules, among which 1 introductory module , 6 modules on different types of instruments, and 4 modules on specialized themes) favors a progression optimized to the needs of each participant.  The program thus offers a custom-designed registration within the complete training cycle, for a total of about 90 hours of training.  Each module is delivered by an industry expert, intent in conveying applied and operational knowledge within the state of the art.  Most training sessions are held at HEC Montréal (weekly 3-hour sessions, 6-9 PM), with some modules being delivered at the Montreal Exchange.

Although it is strongly recommended to begin the program with the introductory module, participants are free to design their own progression within the program.  Each module totals between 6 and 9 hours (2 to 3 sessions).  The program will prove especially valuable to lawyers, accounting professionals, back office personnel, corporate treasurers, retail brokers, auditors, compliance experts, board members and other professionals involved in or interested by this area.
